eTrak™ Lead Management

Problem: A profitable Midwest composite lumber company’s marketing team wanted to implement a new lead generation campaign, but they were lacking the tools they needed to measure ROI and a way to process the newly generated leads. They also wanted to put a consistent method in place to get the new leads out to their field sales team and trade professionals quickly and efficiently.

Innovative Idea: MSS developed eTrak™, a proprietary sales lead generation and management system.

Result: With eTrak™, the field sales team and trade professionals can now receive newly processed leads directly to their mobile devices; via an email, mobile app, or text message. They are also able to instantly send feedback to their management team with the quality of the lead and sales dollars associated with a specific lead.

Data Capture & Management Tool

Problem: A nationally-recognized deck manufacturer created an online interactive visualization tool, which allowed potential customers to be able to design and see the deck of their dreams. The visualizer simulated what the deck would look like, based on their selection of color, design style and dimensions. Unfortunately, the manufacturer did not have a way to track or capture the potential customer’s information, before or after they utilized the tool. Valuable sales opportunities were lost by not converting these potential customers into leads.

Innovative Idea: MSS created a partnership between the manufacturer’s visualization tool and back-end data capture.

Result: By being able to capture and manage the potential customer’s information, the manufacturer can now send the potential customer their final deck image on a mailed follow-up postcard sent directly from MSS, as well as capture important information for lead generation. The printed postcard includes the deck the potential customer designed; contact information for the dealer and contractor closest to the potential customer’s home; and all necessary material needed to build their deck. In turn, the captured potential customer’s information is sent to the same dealer and contractor, so that they have the opportunity to proactively reach out directly to the potential customer. Having this lead information has helped increase the manufacturer’s sales, while also growing prospective leads by 25%.

ROI Calculator App

Problem: Numerous MSS clients who sell high-value products in commodity markets were having difficulty showing the long-term benefits of the higher initial investment to their potential customers.

Innovative Idea: MSS developed a quick and easy ROI calculator app to help sales team members easily present the long-term benefits of purchasing the higher valued item up-front, showing the calculation of savings over time.

Result: The sales team members (both in-store and in the field) now have the ability to quickly show the long-term savings of their products through the convenient app on their mobile device or desktop. It helps to quickly illustrate the savings of reduced maintenance, reduced energy usage, or a longer life span; showing the potential customer they would have to purchase the item less frequently than if they purchase the competitor’s less expensive item.

Online Training & Loyalty Incentives Program

Problem: A multibillion-dollar tire manufacturer wanted to increase top-of-mind awareness of their products with the dealers who were selling their tires in a multi-brand environment. They were also constantly challenged with ensuring their products were on the forefront of the selling proposition, with VARs, retail, and dealer sales teams.

Innovative Idea: In a controlled environment, MSS conducted a study of sales by individuals. The results showed that when a sales person is given more thorough training on a product, they have a stronger product knowledge and will choose to recommend that product 77% of the time. With this information, MSS knew creating an online training program with incentives could be particularly beneficial for the tire manufacturer to sell more tires.

Result: With the development of the online training and loyalty incentives program, the tire manufacturer has increased its product awareness to help drive sales towards its higher margin products. This also ensures a higher level of training and product loyalty from the dealers and the dealers’ sales teams. This program was completed on one consolidated platform, which was developed and is continually maintained and updated by MSS.

Digital Print-on-Demand

Problem: A Fortune 500 company was continually updating their printed materials, leaving the outdated material to be scrapped.

Innovative Idea: MSS installed digital Print-on-Demand and developed systems that queue up printing as the press materials are requested.

Results: With the client having continual access to their digital files, they can assure the most up-to-date version of their printed materials are available at all times. In its first year of implementation, digital Print-on-Demand saved the company over $300,000 in printing and warehousing costs.

Global Print Network (GPN)

Problem: A prominent leader in the manufacturing industry spent a significant part of their marketing budget on shipping collateral internationally to their numerous global partners.

Innovative Idea: MSS vetted and partnered with digital print companies in 11 countries around the globe to develop and put systems in place, that would allow MSS to push digital print orders directly to the Print Partner closest to the manufacturing company’s shipping destination.

Result: In its first year, the GPN saved the manufacturing company over $150,000 by reducing spending on freight, storage and mailing costs, while also minimizing delivery time. MSS received the Fulfillment Ingenuity Award for this original and cost-effective solution, being cited as the most innovative solution ever developed within the fulfillment industry.
